PUT TIME INTO PREPARATION
The Department of Health(DOH) joins
the annual observance of National Disaster Resilience Month(NDRM) this whole
month of July with the theme “Kahandaan sa sakuna’t peligro, para sa tumay na
pagbabago.”
This event wants to call for action
among all the government agencies to implement disaster resilience campaigns towards
increasing public awareness. This event will cover disaster prevention and
mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response and disaster
rehabilitation and recovery.
This event aims to reduce the risk
and impacts of disasters for learners, personnel, schools, and offices arising
from natural and human-induced hazards. This also aims to empower personnel,
offices, schools, and learners in ensuring safety and learning community.
The objectives of the framework is
to protect learners and education workers from death, injury, and harm in
schools.
Disasters strike in every corner of
the world, during every season, and on different scales throughout the year.
These events are often unexpected
by their very nature, leaving little time, if any, to prepare. That is why it
is important to put time into planning and preparation long before the disaster
strikes.
